IG toolkit requirement 8-112 (NHS Operating Framework 2010/11, Informatics Planning Annex requirement).

The deadline for compliance with requirement 8-112, mandatory IG training, has been extended to 30th June 2011.

We are delighted to report that over 200,000 staff have now taken and passed an Information Governance Training module. This is an impressive achievement especially in these challenging times.

We recognise the enormous efforts that numbers of organisations are continuing to make to meet the standard and we are pleased to advise that we are able to extend the deadline for the training requirement to 30th June 2011. When submitting the IG assessment at 31st March, organisations that wish to take advantage of the extension, should include a statement as evidence against requirement 8-112 that describes the current training position and confirms the plan to train remaining staff by 30th June.
