The NHS Commissioning Board will have a key role in publishing information standards from April 2013. In preparation for this new role, information standards will be reviewed. The review of the Information Governance Toolkit (IGT) is already underway and as part of this review, we have published an online consultation, which can be found by following this link: https://consultations.infostandards.org/.

The reasons for reviewing the IGT are:

• To establish whether the IGT remains fit for purpose in the new health and care landscape
• The whole system costs and benefits of supporting the tool
• To establish whether there are any alternatives to the IGT, which could satisfy the current strategic objectives.

We are inviting you to complete this questionnaire either individually or on behalf of your organisation by 11 January 2013.
