Community pharmacies are expected to attain level 2 against each of the pharmacy information governance requirements by 31 March 2011, with the exception of requirement 8-319.

The Department of Health and the Pharmaceutical Services Negotiating Committee are still in discussions on business continuity planning - further information, including clarity on the timescale for requirement 8-319, will follow in due course. PCTs may also wish to note that community pharmacies have been sent "NHS Information Governance: 2010/11 Update" published by the PSNC to support contractors in implementing Version 8 of the Toolkit.
